7th International Summit for Community Wireless Networks (IS4CWN) in Berlin on October 2-4, 2013

Dear All,

I am glad to forward you herewith that New America Foundation’s Open Technology Institute (OTI) is to organize the seventh annual International Summit for Community Wireless Networks (IS4CWN) in Berlin on October 2-4, 2013. Please

The Summit serves as a unique platform for technologists, policy analysts, practitioners, and researchers working on diverse community Internet projects across the globe. The aim is to cultivate a space where we can learn from each others’ experiences, discuss opportunities and challenges, and influence the future of community Internet design, implementation, and regulatory policy.

Goal of the summit is to provide a burgeoning avenue for practitioners, technologists, and policy experts to not only showcase their work but also coordinate future research and development efforts. We believe that technology, community, and policy are mutually inclusive for sustainable and successful projects and efforts aimed at advancing our communities. Some of the highlights from last year’s Summit included discussions of spectrum policy and community-driven infrastructure, Serval and OSLR updates, and workshops on community organizing tools, rural broadband frameworks and business models with a social mission. With your help we’re hoping to develop an even more dynamic and cross-cutting program this year. Keep an eye on the website — http://2013.wirelesssummit.org/ — for updates. There is also funding available to help under-resourced activists and groups to travel to the Summit — with priority for those who have their proposals accepted.

LAST DATE For PROPOSAL / ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS 1 JUNE 2013
Kindly share this information in your network an and thanks in advance for your help with broadening the reach of this event. The call for proposals is attached.
