Dear Members of INWES,

Happy New Year!

We wish that for everyone 2024 be a year of boundless peace, tranquillity, and joy.

It is a great honor to be stepping into the role of President of INWES for 2024-26. And I am very much looking forward to working with the new Board and continuing the tasks and programmes set in place by the previous Boards.

It is customary for new leaders to present a “grand vision,” and I wish to share mine with you:

I hold a strong conviction that INWES is about its members, the incredible individuals shaping our networks and member organizations. It is imperative that we steer INWES towards actively serving and empowering our members for now and the future. Our objective is not just to expand in activity and influence but to ensure that every member is part of our shared mission.

Acknowledging the robust structure set by the previous Board of Directors and the leadership of Jung Sun Kim over the past three years, I’m keen to grow our communication channels and our programs. Our goal is to connect with every member, facilitating global interactions among our women in STEM groups. Collaboration, supporting new networks, and the sharing of experiences are at the heart of INWES, and I’m committed to strengthening partnerships with international organizations that resonate with our objectives. However, my primary focus remains on our valued INWES members. You are the key to making the world better by supporting current and future women in STEM.

In the coming year, we plan to engage with you through a series of activities to listen to your voices, understand your aims, and learn about your aspirations for the future of INWES. Keep a lookout on our website for updates on these initiatives!

Together, let’s shape an INWES that thrives on global collaboration. Your participation and insights will be invaluable and I look forward to hearing from you all.

Warm regards,
Dr Sarah M C Peers
