ICWES19 memories - Thank you! Kia Ora!

ICWES (International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists) has been held almost every three years since its first meeting in New York, USA, in 1964.
This year, the 19th ICWES was held at the Aotea Centre in Auckland, New Zealand on 3-6 September, 2023, with 220 participants (including 50 online participants).
The themes covered on a wide range of topics, such as shaping antarctica & space, natural hazards and other threats to society, improving health and healthcare, advancing technology, diversity and inclusivity in stem, and others. Participants enjoyed various sessions including oral and poster presentations, workshops, and panel discussions.

On behalf of NZ Association for Women in the Sciences, Engineering New Zealand | Te Ao Rangahau and the International Network of Women Engineers & Scientists (INWES), we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended ICWES19 (in-person or virtually), all the speakers, our sponsors and everyone who helped behind the scenes.

Being an in person meeting after COVID19 made the event very meaningful and exciting. We realized how important a physical meeting is for effective networking. Gala’s food was great and the people were colorful in terms of their representation of culture as well.
We hope to have more awards in the next ICWES.
