On behalf of the organizing committee, we cordially invite you to BIEN2013, the International Conference of Woman Scientists and Engineers, to be held in the beautiful and historical city of Seoul, Korea from August 22nd to 24th, 2013. This year’s BIEN conference is held in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Korean Women Scientists and Engineers(KWSE). The BIEN conference was initiated in the year 2003 in Daejeon as the first international conference organized by KWSE where 500 participants attended from 20 countries. The interim board meeting of the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES) was held then. In 2009, BIEN2009 was held in Busan in conjunction with the regional conference of INWES where 300 participants from 24 nations gathered under the theme, “Women in Green Technology towards a Sustainable Asia.”
The theme for the conference is “KW-Leadership, SE-Future (Korean Woman’s Leadership in Science & Engineering and Future)”. Through this international conference, we aim to spread and exchange the achievements of Bio, Nano, Information, Energy & Environment and Space technologies, Basic science, and Convergence technology. We also try to strengthen the global position of women scientists and engineers and build proper foundation for collaboration and partnership between the domestic and foreign scientists and engineers.
This meeting will act not only as a forum for scientists, engineers, and researchers with common interests, but also as a special occasion where participants can discuss future research and technological advancements.
