New year message from New INWES president, Dr. Jung Sun Kim

Dear Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of INWES, I would like to wish everyone good health and happiness for the year 2021.

The year 2020 was a difficult time for most of us with the unprecedented challenges caused by the COVID19 pandemic. Many of our daily activities were on a halt and due to travel restrictions most of our in person meetings have been cancelled. However, thanks to the advancement of technology, alternative communication channels were open and we made things happen through online meetings, remote classes and socially-distanced in person meetings. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the board members who have served 2018-2020 led by Gail Mattson, INWES President 2018-2020, for their devoted service for the past three years. Despite the pandemic, INWES business could proceed thanks to their enormous efforts.

As President 2021-2023, I would like to briefly report on the outcome of the election of board members at the 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM16) held on-line via Zoom on November 21, 2020. Eighteen excellent women have been elected by our members as Board of Directors 2021-2023 and their board responsibilities were decided by vote at the INWES Board of
Directors Meeting #33 held on December 19, 2020 via Zoom. You will find a brief introduction of the new board members in the upcoming newsletter. For now you can see their names, affiliations and board positions in our recently updated homepage at the following link.
