IPITEx 2025: A Golden Showcase for Malaysian Inventors

Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition 2025 ( IPITEx 2025)

A total of 350 inventors from Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS) received 37 Gold, 26 Silver, 10 Bronze, and IPITEX Big Prize, at the Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition 2025 ( IPITEx 2025) from 2nd – 6th FEB 2025,  at the “Thailand Inventors’ Day 2025”.

The Head of Delegation from Malaysia, Prof Dr Leong Wai Yie mentioned that international judges, visitors, and Pn Jayagowri Pindaya, Minister Counselor (Economic Affairs) from Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok Thailand, attended the Exhibition and was impressed with Malaysia’s inventions. On behalf of the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, Thailand, Ms. Jayagowri extends her heartfelt congratulations to all Malaysian inventors and innovators participating in IPITEx 2025 and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors. Their contributions will undoubtedly play a vital role in shaping the future of science, technology, and innovation. IPITEx 2025 was hosted by National Research Agency (NRC) , Thailand Ministry of Higher Education to promote and support the use of inventions and innovations of international inventors and researchers. 

This year’s exhibition featured exhibits on Medicine and Public Health, Medical Technology, Health Products, Modern Agriculture, Environment / Water / Power and Electricity / Green Technology, Building / Construction,  Education, Household Items, Robotics, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) and Manufacturing Processes.

The Malaysian delegation had inspired both national and international inventors and researchers. There were more than 2000 inventions from more than 25 countries with more than 500 presentations. The event has led to the development of inventions and serve as motivation for nurturing new generations of inventors. Malaysian team has gained an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience from international inventors during the Thailand Invention Day event 2025

  7. World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) Special Award, Taiwan

IPITEx 2025 was the largest participation of SM St Michael Penampang Sabah in the face-to-face innovation competition  involving 28 students and led by Principal Jennifer Asing, along with teachers Mariatul Hanis, and Cyprian Rian Jokinol. Their ingenious inventions such as Hydralert, Binbuster, HydroHarvester, left a lasting impression on the judges.

Dr. Suliadi Firdaus Sufahani, from   Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, won  the IPITEX Big Prize, on his invention: Technical Gaps: A Descriptive Analysis of Non- Operational and Operational Electric Vehicle. In this study, fuel consumption of Nissan Navara (diesel) and electrical consumption of BYD Electric SUV are compared for duration of 36 days for Nissan Navara and 63 days for BYD SUV. The data are the operational cost, consumption pattern, efficiency level of concerned vehicle. The study also anticipates on annual and long-distance use savings thus strongly supporting EV adoption for municipal use and a prediction system is being proposed for the battery consumption.

Mr Vijaya, from Education Department of Pasir Gudang (PPD PASIR GUDANG), won a NRCT Special Prize, on his invention: S3PA. This AI-powered platform transforms student assessments with speed, fairness, and precision, addressing biases and inefficiencies of traditional methods. Aligned with global benchmarks like PISA, it enhances international competitiveness while freeing educators to focus on teaching. Real-time feedback empowers students to improve instantly, and its scalable, inclusive design bridges gaps in underserved regions. By solving key challenges, it sets a bold new standard in education assessment.

“We are experiencing to the unique and exciting judging method from international judges, by the way of their judging makes the participants will always be ready at all times, apart from receiving visitors to the exhibition booth. This method of judging we can learn and can adopt into Malaysian event since this way gives a high effect or impact on the presentation and commitment among exhibitors. This year, IPITEx 2025 competition were held physically (on-site event) and the international pavilion was set up to promote our potential invention and innovation at the event. Also, our inventions and innovations were publicized on our website worldwide.”

The exhibition was very impressive. One of the largest invention exhibitions in Thailand. We look forward to participating and contribute to Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx  2025), Thailand Inventors’ Day 2025, which will be held every year to create the collaboration between Thai and international inventors or international organizations.
