The International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES) is delighted to share the success of the 6th International Conference for Women in Science and Technology—BIEN 2025 and the 2025 INWES Asia and Pacific Nation Network (APNN) Meeting, held from August 20 to 22, 2025, in Daejeon, Korea.
Organized by the Association of Korean Women Scientists and Engineers (KWSE) in partnership with INWES, the event brought together 600 participants from 21 countries under the theme “Science and Technology Without Borders.”
Over three days, participants engaged in inspiring keynote speeches, dynamic poster sessions, interdisciplinary research exchanges, and valuable networking opportunities. The conference once again demonstrated the importance of international collaboration in advancing women’s participation and leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Since its launch in 2003, BIEN has grown into a unique platform for sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and strengthening global connections. The 2025 edition continued this tradition, creating space for meaningful dialogue and partnerships that will extend well beyond the event itself.
INWES expresses its sincere appreciation to KWSE for hosting this outstanding conference and to all participants who contributed their time, expertise, and enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing the ideas and connections from BIEN 2025 continue to flourish, and to gathering again in 2029 with renewed energy and vision.
