INWES President’s Message 2025

Dear Members of INWES,

In 2025, let’s envision a world where women in STEM are no longer trailblazers but equal participants shaping the course of humanity. Let’s pledge to continue inspiring, empowering, and celebrating women’s contributions in STEM, knowing that their impact will resonate far beyond 2025.

Together, we are not just imagining the future—we are building it.
#WomenInSTEM #INWES2025 #STEMFuture

We closed 2024 with our 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM20). Held online, AGM20 brought together members from around the world, proving that distance is no barrier to connection, collaboration, and celebration. During the AGM, the INWES Board of Directors reported on their activities including the two fabulous regional network events:

🌏 In October 2024, the Annual #APNN (INWES Asia & Pacific Nations Network) Conference was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, and hosted by our member the Vietnamese Association for Intellectual Women #VAFIW. It brought together delegates from over 10 countries across Asia, and included a high level audience with the Vietnamese Prime Minister

🌍 In November 2024, the #ARN (Sub-Saharan African Regional Network) held the first African Conference for Women Engineers and Scientists #ACWES, in Kigali, Rwanda, with the collaboration of the Rwandan Association for women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE) and of African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS).

INWES believes that our collective strength lies in #collaboration. We urge all stakeholders—educators, policymakers, corporations, and individuals—to join forces in shaping a future where women thrive in STEM. Let’s:
💪 Support Girls and Young Women in STEM: Invest in programs for #YouthEmpowerment.
📢 Amplify voices: Share the #Herstories of women in STEM across the world.
⚖️ Champion policy change: Advocate for workplace #equality, parental support, and equitable pay.
🥰 #Celebrate success: Recognize and honor women’s contributions to STEM fields globally.

Welcome to 2025!

Warm regards,
Dr Sarah M C Peers
