Eligibility

An Institute or University interested in supporting the purpose and the goal of the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists is eligible for Institute/University Membership in the Network upon:

  • Providing documentation of policies, and/or programs that have similar goals as INWES,
  • Payment of annual dues, and
  • Identification of an Institute/University representative.

Benefits to Members

  • Special access to INWES website for members only,
  • Opportunities to participate in regional and international INWES activities,
  • Listing in the online INWES Membership Directory,
  • All general INWES mailings, e-mail bulletins, regional and international conference announcements, and information sharing,
  • Opportunities to co-host conferences, workshops and seminars that focus on gender issues with regards to STEM,
  • Link on INWES website,
  • Listing in the INWES Annual Report,
  • Opportunities to collaborate with other universities to work on joint research projects related to gender studies with regards to STEM in different parts of the world, and
  • Opportunity to nominate Institute/University Members and to be selected as a Board Director.

Fees

Payment of annual Membership dues of $500 (US) entitles your Institute/ University to become a member of INWES and to select a representative who can participate in INWES activities. Institutes/Universities from developing countries and countries in transition will pay $150 (US).
The representative can be nominated for election to the Board of Directors of INWES. A number of Director positions are specifically reserved for Institute/ University members. Institute/University Directors will be involved in establishing the policies and strategic direction of the Network. Institute/University employees, members and students will be encouraged to participate in Network committee activities, and take advantage of the opportunities provided for networking and international programs.
