Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How INWES can help us to start our organization in terms of sponsorship and guidance?
  • Regarding the information about how to set up an organisation, you can consult the two following documents: How to set up an Organisation of Women in STEM and Considerations and Suggested Steps for Setting up an Association.
These are only guidelines as there are not the final versions; INWES is currently updating and completing them. Also, INWES could give more guidance if you are a member and we know more details about your specific situation.

  • How to get a supportive member from INWES for the event I am organising in my country?
  • If the network wants to become a member or if you are an individual member of INWES who creates an organisation, you can have the moral support of INWES after agreement of the executive but at this time we don't have the funds for travel expenses to send somebody for the creation of the network. If you could raise money to fund travel to your country, then we could probably send someone at an agreed time.

  • How to participate to international events to get known and to let others be sensitive to our projects and issues?
  • Answer to calls for papers like Promethea for instance to present your projects. Find an email network like Daphnet (http://www.wes.org.uk/daphnet.html) in the UK who publicise this sort of thing. Contact them at dapnnet@imperial.ac.uk.

  • How to get connection with UNESCO?
  • The first think is to meet the ambassador of your country but the appointment is not always easy to obtain. The ambassador and the National Commission for UNESCO can advice you on the department concerns by your projects.

  • Where to find a sponsor company in Canada or US to promote and expand our organization for internships, education, environment projects?
  • We do have some experience with that. I think that if you or your organisation joined INWES, you would find that we have many contacts with other organisations, which you could use to promote your projects and issues. Sponsorship is difficult - it is something we are working on also - and with the current world financial situation it may be even harder.

  • How to get registered via PayPal to INWES?
