What INWES is
INWES is:
- an international network specifically focused on supporting women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
- an international organisation founded as a legal entity set up under the laws of Canada through the collaboration of numerous organisational, individual, and corporate members.
- an organisation run by an elected Board of Directors of not less than 9 and not more than 18, of whom not more than twelve (12) are Organizational Directors, three (3) are Corporate Directors, and three (3) are Individual Directors.
- an inclusive organisation that is multilingual and multinational. Eleven (11) geographical regions are represented within INWES:
- North America
- South and Central America, and the Caribbean
- Western Europe (including Israel and Turkey)
- Eastern Europe
- French speaking Africa
- English speaking Africa
- Middle East
- Central Asia (including India)
- Southeast Asia
- Far East Asia
- Australia and New Zealand
- an organisation that develop and run a program to accomplish its mission.
- an organisation that oversees the triennial ICWES conference, which is a conference that includes sessions on scientific and technical programs as well as sessions on gender science.
