REGIONAL NETWORKS

INWES decided in 2008 to encourage the different regions of the world to establish their own regional networks to facilitate communication, by promote activities in a physically close and similar time zones, and more activities addressing regional interests and problems. By doing this, it hopes to enable women in the various regions of the world to realize their full potential in STEM.

INWES APNN, the Asia and Pacific Nation Network, was established under the umbrella of INWES, as the first regional network, in 2011. INWES APNN was launched in 2011 during ICWES15 in Adelaide, Australia. In 2014, INWES the African Regional Network (ARN) was established during ICWES16 in Los Angeles, USA, followed by INWES Europe in 2015, INWES MENA in 2018 and a new LAM Regional Network currently under development. These networks are not independent from the central INWES but support the work of INWES in their regions. They can hold conferences and workshops or different activities in accordance with the policies and by-law of INWES, and following annual plans which are submitted to the Board of Directors.
