2020 UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education – Deadline: 26 May 2020

REMINDER: Online nominations open for the 2020 UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education – Deadline: 26 May 2020

Dear partners,

As COVID-19 related school closures widen gender disparities, organizations championing girls’ and women’s education need our support more than ever.

Accordingly, we are pleased to remind you that the call for nominations for the 2020 edition of the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education is open until 26 May 2020 (midnight, Paris time).

Funded by the People’s Republic of China, the Prize honours outstanding and innovative practices advancing girls’ and women’s education and consists of two monetary awards of USD 50,000 to help further the work of laureates in this field.

You can nominate up to three (3) individuals, institutions or organizations who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of girls’ and women’s education.

UNESCO recommends that this call for nominations be made widely known among relevant stakeholders involved in girls’ and women’s education in order to encourage all potential candidates to apply before the deadline. A social media pack is available in 7 languages for this purpose and can be found here.

For further information on the Prize and its nomination process, please visit: http://on.unesco.org/gweprize and download the nominations leaflet.

Enquiries regarding the nomination process should be addressed to Ms. Rebekah Cameron, Section of Education for Inclusion and Gender Equality, at +33 1 45 68 10 08 or GWEPrize@unesco.org.

Thank you for your support.
